The BBC is showing the way ahead for many companies by seeming to drop the 0870 numbers in favour of 03 alternatives.

The broadcasting giant is now using 0370 numbers instead of 0870 numbers. This means that people can now contact these new numbers for the same cost as a standard landline (starting 01 or 02) even from a mobile phone. One major benefit is that the 03 numbers are often included in the free minutes you get with your mobile phone plan.
